Luimnagh Pier is a shallow pier mainly consisting of fishing boats, however day boats and small RIB's can often be seen launching without problem.
Luimnagh Pier leads out to Ballindiff Bay, which is a large shallow bay with a limestone bed. The average depth of the bay is 5-6ft with a flat bottom, making it very popular for water sports.
